I wrote this about someone who was diagnosed with a chronic illness, but I realize this can also just be someone's mentality. Having fun is great, but don't jeopardize your own well-being in order to do it.

To Live or To Fight

You want to live

But you think it won’t be for long

So you do what you want

You consume what you can

You live like you’re not limited

Because even though your body is,

Your spirit isn’t

But I fear that you feel the guilt

Of what this immediate happiness

Means for a short future

That when the time comes

You’ll wonder why

You’ll feel anger

But cover it with pride

And what about us

Your legacy

While you boast about a good life

We lie to wonderers

Saying that she tried to fight

Because you wanted to live

But did you fight?
