Worlds at War
By Loviel
They may laugh at me now
But I know truth and preservation.
Within these lands, is a ravishing war
All but necessary, to simply understand.
And so I welcome
Beasts of Man and Earth—
Come test my morals,
My sentient strength.
I will not blame you for your naturality
For you and I know no other
And I will accept your gifts—
Show my gratitude and grief
And though I may have lost
More than any ignorant man
I have gained the trust of nature,
So that it may be vulnerable,
Not just beauty but beast.
I have knowledge of peace
Where a scholar sees only war.
So I am man
So I am beast
So I am friend, yet foe
Mark, these worlds will rejoice
And welcome me in my departure
From this land, and from Earth.
